Take a Break From Caregiving With Peace of Mind

Respite care is a short-term stay for a loved one to allow a respite, or recovery time, for the caregiver. As a caregiver, a respite stay can give you peace of mind while you take time for a planned surgery, vacation, or needed time to manage your personal health and well-being.

Respite care stays also provide a great opportunity for loved ones to experience life at a continuing care retirement community. Respite care guests can participate in life enrichment activities, enjoy dining options, and leave the housekeeping and laundry tasks to the staff. A short-term stay may help make a transition to a senior living community easier should future needs require a change in care.

How Does Respite Care at Optalis Work?

Respite stays can vary from a few days to a few weeks. The Optalis team understands that your job as a caregiver can be physically and emotionally demanding, so we do our best to create a caring, comfortable environment that feels like home for your loved one.

We provide furnished respite suites in both our skilled nursing and assisted living levels of care. Your loved one will have access to a nursing team 24 hours a day, with a personalized plan of care.

It’s typically best to plan ahead for a respite care stay, but we understand that it’s not always possible. If an urgent need arises, feel free to contact us to check our availability.
